My baby brother asked me today, "What is a 'Kindred Dreamheart'?"

I told him it's the name of my new clothing line; and I named it that because I've always been ambitious with BIG goals and dreams. I wanted to be everything when I grew up. I’ve done a lot so far, but I'm not there yet. And I'm not giving up. That's my definition of a "dreamheart". Kindred means just that, akin or similar in quality or character. So my female line is dedicated to those like me...a Kindred Dreamheart. My men's line will be just...."Dreamheart".

The Designer

"To know me is an honor"

Like many before her, Memphis, TN native Katrina Pierce's road to becoming a fashion designer was eccentric. In high school she created her entire wardrobe and made income sewing prom dresses; but she later served in the U.S. Army. It soon became apparent that being a Soldier, though honorable, was not satisfying her creativity. She found herself acting as the base's alternate alterations consultant while stationed in Wackernheim, Germany and in Iraq. She started a boutique out of her barrack's room and took tailoring orders from her battle buddies. After her first enlistment, she went to study fashion design at AIU-Buckhead in Atlanta, GA. Shortly after, she was called back to aid in the war against terror. Determined to weave her own threads in the seams of the fashion industry, she currently participates in non-profit fashion shows and fashion competitions. She considers herself a freelance designer and plans to complete her fashion degree.
